Even a weed can be a perfect flower....

Sometimes those of us with Fibromyalgia can feel like a weed and forget that we are a beautiful creation of God...in spite of our symptoms from our disease.  We can either shrivel up like a flowering weed or we can shine in this wonderful world of ours.  Just because we are in pain most of the time, fatigued and foggy brained, we are still like a flower to our friends and family.  Our attitudes are up to us.... we can either be negative or positive.

Let's work together to do things that make us still feel like achievers... new hobbies and goals, new friends.  We might not be able to be that "A" type of person we once were but we can brighten our own world and the world of others in simpler ways.

Do you know a mother who is exhausted with the duties of motherhood?  How about inviting her to come have a cup of tea... or taking a pretty cup filled with a mixture of tea bags and let her know you were thinking of her.  Do you know a shut in, whose life could be brightened with a card or a phone call?   A hand written note sent to someone in a nursing home or retirement home, crocheting and knitting hats for kids, or lap robe's for someone ill can brighten our own spirits as well as theirs.
Baking some cookies and taking them to a neighbor who has had a rough time can be an upper for both of you.

The whole message I'm trying to share is that "if it is to be, it's up to me"...  When we forget self and do things for others, we feel so much better (and so do they).  We are able to get above our pain and enjoy life once again.

Have a wonderful day....

I know it is not easy. It seems to be getting worse. I have had little contact with other for so long until my blog. Opening a blog and following other blogs has lifted my sprits. I hope in some way I have done the same for them

Hmm, excellent thoughts, thank you for sharing! That's so true how it is up to us and how if it's going to be this, then why not make good come from it? Is wallowing in self-pity day in and day out really going to get us anywhere good? Um, no. Let's definitely work to enourage and help those around us instead!! Well said!

Great post~ it's so true... sometimes our best therapy is to help others ~ thinking less of oneself and more of others has helped me on many occasions.

Thank you to all that have responded to my post and those of you newer to my blog. I wish I could be creative and write everyday but if you have fibro you know how the brain can get very foggy... I send you each soft and fluffy fibro hugs, hoping your day has been a good one.

Hello Carol, my daughter has Fibromyagia, she is newly diagnosed and as she tells me her symptoms, I feel I have had this all along and I have been searching all over for information about it and although you don't give me information about the disease you give us all something strong to think about, and to feel. I have lived about 40 years of my life in pain but I am a giver and I think it is the giving which has helped me. Thank you for your giving heart...

Carol, I also deal with fibromyalgia on a daily basis and understand the fatigue, pain and "fibro fog." When I was head of Womens Ministries I used to tell other women who dealt with chronic illness that if they were confined to bedrest, if they could pick up a phone, they could minister to someone else. I have a friend who runs her church prayer ministry from her home! Awesome ministry!
