Fibro Fog

Fibro Fog can be upsetting and embarrassing. Medications can seem to make it even worse.

How many times have you lost your thought in the middle of a conversation? A plain ol' memory blank. Or someone asks you something as simple as the name of one of your grandchildren and your mind is a blank?

Have you had the wrong words come out of your mouth? They are not connected in any way but the word is completely different than you were meaning to say.

How many times do you describe what you are trying to think of in order to get the word? Our spouses and friends sometimes need to be puzzle solvers with us.

It can be scary, it can be funny, it can be maddening. We might be afraid we are "losing it" or getting Alzheimer's or something.

If it is happening to you, don't panic. You aren't going crazy or losing your memory. It's a side affect of fibro. Discuss it with your doctor, hopefully, you have one that is compassionate and helpful.

Had a wellness meeting at work yesterday told my manager everything plus due to being a BrCa 1 carrier I'm going to hospital in June to be given a date for a full hysterectomy my boss ended up saying sorry for calling but also asked if my gp had classed me as disabled I'm not sure how to take that comment ...my husband died when I was 23 so I'm alone with 2children I just look at myself an think which crazy fool would want to waste their time on me I'm 35 an my life is over x

Sharna, I'm sorry I did not see your comment sooner. I just put a new blog on called "Hope". Perhaps you can go back and read it.

There is always hope, do not feel that your life is over. Research is being done to help us. Please talk to someone that can counsel you and help you get back to finding all the good things in your life. I'm almost 74. If I had given up I would have missed so many things, grandchildren, great grandchildren etc. I'm really sorry about the death of your husband when you are so young but also know that God works in mysterious ways and someday you will look back and say, Some one does love me for who I am and want to be at your side. Wishing you the best and sending a prayer your way.
